I first discovered the Subie and You! Podcast when one of my good friend’s episode aired.

I occupy a unique space in that I am a small business owner and an automotive enthusiast / Subaru owner. One of my companies, MeLe Design Firm, has a fair stake in the Subaru aftermarket realm. Up until this podcast, no one was really highlighting the challenges of owning a small business in this arena.

After listening to the episode with the owner of Primitive Racing, and naturally successive episodes, I became hooked. Rafael is so genuine and a true Subaru nut. His passion blends the everyday owner and the aftermarket community effortlessly.

I was given the opportunity to be on the podcast and it was an amazing experience. Trying to start a small business, let alone keep one up and operational in these economic times, you often find yourself in survival mode. There is not much time to reflect on the memories made during the process. But I had a moment to slow down and reflect during my episode.

At the conclusion of it I felt so strongly that we had to get more involved with Rafael’s project. We became the first company to officially sponsor him and we have remained close ever since.
