In this Part 2 of the Subie Scoop I make an announcement about Travis Pastrana's return to ARA in April.
[00:00:10] Hello everybody and welcome to the Subie Scoop Part 2. As I mentioned yesterday, there were some things going on, so that's what I'm here to announce. And it's not anything, it's not like some news that nobody knows about because it is something that was announced in the Subaru US media news. So if you subscribe to that and you got an email today, you probably already know what that is.
[00:00:36] But if you don't, and you haven't been checking out the Subaru Motorsports USA Instagram page, here it is. Yesterday on the Subaru Motorsports USA Instagram page and in the Subaru US Media Center, there was this announcement.
[00:00:52] Subaru Motorsports USA driver and extreme sports legend Travis Pastrana will enter the 2025 American Rally Association season at the upcoming Olympus Rally in Washington April 12-13.
[00:01:06] Along with co-driver Rian Angelis Amino, Pastrana will join the ARA field not in the WRX ARA 25, but in an all-new rally car developed with Subaru Motorsports USA technical partner Vermont Sports Car for the limited four-wheel drive class. Couldn't be more excited to be back rallying, says Pastrana of he and Gelsimino's ARA return.
[00:01:32] For Pastrana, the move to limited four-wheel drive is about helping to grow rally racing in America. Subaru Motorsports USA agreed to build a more affordable car for me in the hopes of inspiring more drivers to compete in the series.
[00:01:46] Limited four-wheel drive cars are far from factory stock, but the modifications allowed are limited compared to those in the ARA's open four-wheel drive class that includes the WRX ARA 25 piloted by Subaru Motorsports USA driver Brandon Semenuk and co-driver Keaton Williams. Limited four-wheel drive competition is plentiful and the action is exciting. The cars are just that much closer to something you might drive on the road day-to-day.
[00:02:14] Rest assured, more specifics on the new car will be revealed as the Olympus rally draws closer. Pastrana plans to use his presence in the limited four-wheel drive class and the new car as a beacon to those who may think that rally is out of reach for them. My goal this year is to have a lot of fun and build on this as a proof of concept, he says, that will hopefully inspire more drivers from around the USA and around the world to come race with us in the ARA Championship.
[00:02:41] Pastrana's new limited four-wheel drive schedule won't be limited to ARA national events. He's expected to compete at July's Rally Colorado, an ARA Super Regional event. We have some of the greatest roads in the world, adds Pastrana, and I'm looking forward to building something that will help build great competition for years to come. Watch along as this new era of Pastrana's iconic career begins during the April 12th to 13th Olympus Rally.

Okay, so there's the SubiScoop Part 2. That was my announcement. Well, not my announcement. That was the announcement by Subaru Motorsports USA and the Subaru US Media Center. And what does that have to do with the SubiScoop Part 2 and the SubiScoop and the SubiNU podcast?
[00:03:38] It might have something to do with Travis Pastrana's return to ARA coming up in April. And it might have something to do with next Monday's episode being number 199. And I'm just going to leave this at that.
