[00:00:10] Hello everybody, welcome to another edition of the Subie Scoop. In this edition I will talk about Pearl and getting her fixed finally, and then also just some, maybe some other random stuff. I also have an announcement by somebody who wanted to share an event with me, and asked me to include it in the Subie Scoop, so I will be including that as well.

[00:00:35] For all the fathers out there, I hope you had a very happy Father's Day. I know I'm recording this on Saturday, but I know I'm going to have a good Father's Day tomorrow on Sunday, just because I'm going to be with my kids and that's what's most important. But anyway, I hope you all had a good Father's Day, and I hope you all have a good week. Next Monday, I will actually be in Oregon for Overland Expo.

[00:01:03] Me and my kids are going to be flying up on Sunday the 22nd, and we don't fly back or come back home until Monday the 30th. So this is going to be our vacation, and then we're going to be, so we'll be there vacationing for the week, just seeing some beautiful parts of Oregon and exploring. And then Friday, Saturday, we will be at Overland Expo and probably be there a little bit on Sunday.

[00:01:31] So it'll be a great event, and I'm looking forward to it. Great to be in another location for Overland Expo. And if you are going to be there, I'm looking forward to seeing you again or meeting you for the first time. So stop by the Subaru booth and say hello.

[00:01:47] All right, so as you may recall, my viscous coupling was all jacked up, and I know it was from going through the mud and just spinning my tires, spinning, spinning, spinning, accelerating really hard, also while turning. And I think that just put a lot of pressure and stress on the viscous coupling.

[00:02:07] Not only that, but over 100,000 miles and doing a lot of driving like that through the mud, because that's really all that we would have out here to really have fun in is mud. And it would get muddy pretty often because it rains often here. So I would end up going and driving through the mud and driving pretty hard through the mud. You know, I know people do some pretty crazy terrain, but I was getting pretty crazy in the mud.

[00:02:35] And so, you know, I just, it eventually had to happen. But now when I drive and I turn really slow, I don't hear the clicking noise because it's been fixed. And I have to give a huge shout out to J&D Motorworks here in Houston for fixing it. It's Johnny and Daryl. I actually met them at the big event a few years ago and had them on the podcast for a little bit. And so they come highly recommended.

[00:03:03] My buddy Ryan, who goes by Anonymous TWRX, he has had Johnny and Daryl do a lot of the work on his car that he can't do himself. So I know that they're very trustworthy and they've got, you know, just you go to Google and they've got a lot of really good reviews from other people as well. So it's really good to see that they are taking care of the Subaru community here in Houston. Of course, I'm very thankful that it's fixed and not making that noise anymore.

[00:03:30] But it's also weird because I'm so used to it clicking and clanking and feeling it whenever, especially like usually when I'm turning into parking spaces. Because you got to go slow and you're turning. And it's I've had a few people look over at me because you can obviously hear it from outside. And so, you know, it's embarrassing. But now I don't know. It's just it's weird not hearing it because I'm so used to it.

[00:03:58] But of course, I'm thankful that it's fixed because I don't want to be driving around with a semi broken car. Also want to give a huge shout out to Subaru Ambassador Robert for letting me know that that's what it was and giving me a lot of information that really helped me decide that, you know, this is the direction I need to take. He also gave me a link of a place that sells genuine Subaru parts online.

[00:04:24] So I was able to go there and save some money and gave, you know, gave a shout out for Robert to the guy that was selling the part. And so it was great. Bought the part, finally got able to get it replaced. And now I'm all good. So that's good. But from now on, I do still want to drive through the mud, but I'm not going to go as hard as I used to because Pearl's at close to 130,000 miles.

[00:04:52] And I want to just take it easy and, you know, just drive slower through the mud because I just I don't have anybody here to help me repair my car. If I break it, I have to take it to a shop and I just don't want to keep spending that kind of money on Pearl if I don't have to. So I'm going to take it easy going through the mud and, you know, it'll still be fun going to trails like Bastrop and Cheeseburger Loop. But other than that, I really want her to last. So I'm going to take it easy.

[00:05:21] So with all of that, everything going on with Pearl, now I can let you know from this other person what their announcement is. And I'll share that right now. Hey, everyone. This is Jim. You can find me on Instagram at LittleRubySuby. I would like to invite everybody to join Off-Road Roos on June 28th for a trail day and food drive that's going to benefit the Upland Baptist Church Food Pantry.

[00:05:49] This pantry is very near and dear to my heart because I myself have benefited from it. So I would love to give back in any way possible. We're going to spend the morning doing a little trail drive, have lunch, and then do a little caravan to the food pantry and donate. If you are not in the area, that is totally fine. I have created an Amazon wish list that you can order off there and the food will be shipped directly to my house and I can donate it on your behalf.

[00:06:14] So if you have any questions, you can find us on Instagram or find me on Instagram at LittleRubySuby. Or you can hit up Off-Road Roos on Facebook and we'd love to see you out there. Thanks, everyone. And thank you, Jim, for reaching out to me and asking me to share this on the Subie Scoop. If you go to the actual, well, whenever you're listening to this on the app, I have included a link for the Amazon wish list.

[00:06:41] So if you're not able to make it out there and you want to help contribute, you can go find the Amazon wish list on the episode notes. Click that, order something. Like he said, it'll be shipped to his house and you can help support this great call. So thanks again, Jim. I appreciate you reaching out to me, like I said, and sharing this bit of information. So with that, that will close out the Subie Scoop for this week.

[00:07:08] Again, like I said, next week I will be out of town. I'll be on vacation. So next Monday, the 23rd, I will have a regular episode out. But the following Monday is a normally would be a Subie Scoop. So I am going to, I'm just going to include that. I'm going to do a Subie Scoop slash episode bonus episode for Overland Expo.

[00:07:35] And I will try to put that together for that following Friday, which will be, is that going to be July 4th? That is going to be July 4th. So maybe it'll be a bonus episode slash Subie Scoop slash holiday episode. So yeah, I will try to get it out. I know it's going to be a busy week when I get back, but I'll do my best and just watch for my stories. I'll announce whether or not I'm able to put it out. If not, then I'll get it out the following Friday.

[00:08:04] And, you know, as long as it's not too crazy. So anyway, thank you all so much for tuning in and listening to the Subie Scoop. Thanks for liking, sharing, and I hope you all have a wonderful week. Much Subie love. Wrath.
