Jonathan and Evee hop on the mic, in person, to talk about their Subarus, their mods, living in Texas, and share their Subaru journey.

[00:00:00] Hello, this is Jonathan. You can find me on Instagram as SubieMu and my fiancé Evie will
[00:00:17] be joining us. Her Instagram is kawaiiEvie underscore 96 and you're listening to Subie
[00:00:23] and you podcast. Hello everybody and welcome to episode 169. I welcome my guest Jonathan and his
[00:00:30] fiancé Evie. This is an episode that I recorded in person so that was really cool because they are
[00:00:38] in the Houston area and they are part of the West Side-ish crew that we created. So it was fun
[00:00:46] to go over there to their house and record in person because I haven't done too many of those.
[00:00:50] I think this was maybe the fifth one that I had done in person like full episode, maybe six. I can't
[00:00:57] remember exactly but I've done just a small amount of episodes in person and they're a lot of fun.
[00:01:04] It's a different experience for me and of course for the guest. So we will get into the conversation
[00:01:11] with them in just a little bit but if you happen to see my stories on Pearl's page over the
[00:01:18] weekend and my real, my daughter bought a new cross-track. I did not trade in Pearl because
[00:01:27] I just could not do that. One because it's Pearl and two because it's Emmanuel and it's only got
[00:01:34] 101,000 miles which is, I don't know, that seems kind of low for a Subaru doesn't it? So I had
[00:01:40] taken a photo of her with her new cross-track and then some photos with her cross-track
[00:01:45] and Pearl next to each other and I was intending to put them together in a video or a slideshow
[00:01:52] and post that as like, hey check it out my daughter joined this Subaru community and I
[00:02:02] had the one photo of Pearl next to her new cross-track and it just hit me. I was like,
[00:02:09] have to post this in my stories and say that I traded Pearl and just to mess with everybody so
[00:02:16] if I really upset you, I'm sorry but it was uh, I don't know, I had a little fun with it but yeah
[00:02:21] there's no way I could trade in Pearl at least not now. It's going to be a while before that happens
[00:02:27] and may not even trade her in. I might just get another Subaru and keep Pearl as well so
[00:02:33] I don't know we'll see what the future holds but so I got a lot of people that were kind of
[00:02:38] freaking out and not believing it. Other people that were congratulating me, shame on you.
[00:02:44] Why would you congratulate me for getting rid of Pearl and getting another cross-track? Come on.
[00:02:49] While of course it would be nice to have a brand new cross-track, I have to keep Pearl and I'm very
[00:02:55] very happy and excited for my daughter to be joining the Subaru community and of course just
[00:03:00] having a Subaru period and even more so a cross-track and she is very very happy about it.
[00:03:08] Two of the messages that I received which I think were probably the best were from X-Trek
[00:03:13] Moose and all of the other Outback who both asked is this real life?
[00:03:20] Those were fun. Those are fun to see but yeah I still have Pearl as you can see in my real and
[00:03:27] my stories so now my daughter has to come up with a name start an Instagram account
[00:03:32] and we've got to get some mods for her so most likely we're going to start off with some
[00:03:38] eccentric designs decals. The Subi and You podcast is brought to you by eccentric designs.
[00:03:46] For those of you who don't know, eccentric designs is a small community-driven business that offers

[00:05:16] I have another Patreon question of the week and this one comes from Sierra who goes by SLT trek
[00:05:21] and she asks football or soccer? I don't really watch soccer. I've never really watched soccer.
[00:05:29] I mean if it's on sometimes I'll watch it because it's interesting but
[00:05:32] I've just I've never really followed any sports though but my preference would be football.
[00:05:39] It's not something that I watch on purpose but when I do watch it I enjoy it or somebody
[00:05:45] said hey do you want to come over and watch the game? Yeah of course I you know I do watch it
[00:05:49] and occasionally and I do enjoy it but following sports is something that I have
[00:05:56] never really done because to be honest I just don't care so I know a lot of people are really
[00:06:02] really big into sports and that's cool that's awesome but it just never does anything. It's
[00:06:07] never done anything for me so again I enjoy watching it. It's not that I don't like sports,
[00:06:12] it's not that I don't enjoy watching it. I just don't watch it on purpose and
[00:06:17] this may upset some people but it's kind of like country music. I don't well no I don't
[00:06:23] like country music. If it's on it's just on but I don't ever listen to it on purpose.
[00:06:31] So for any of you country music fans out there I'm sorry but that's pretty much the one genre
[00:06:38] of music that I do not like. Now you know something new about me so there you go.
[00:06:44] Thank you so much Sierra for your question. I hope I answered it well thank you.
[00:06:50] I went driving through some mud the other day on my it was Thursday on my way to work because it had
[00:06:56] we had gotten some really really heavy rain the I think Tuesday night and part of Wednesday morning
[00:07:03] and so I hadn't driven through the mud in a while so went through and got pearl pretty dirty pretty
[00:07:11] muddy but not enough but the spray pattern of the mud on my rica wheels looks really really
[00:07:19] cool so I'm gonna have to take a picture of that. If you are in the market for some new wheels
[00:07:23] look no further than Rica VS go check out ricavs.com see what they have to offer for your Subaru
[00:07:31] and when you find what you like be sure to use the code SUBIU10 at checkout to get 10% off a
[00:07:38] set of wheels or a lift kit. Thank you so much Rica VS for sponsoring the SUBI and U podcast.
[00:07:46] This episode is also brought to you by Melee Design Firm. Did you know that you can find
[00:07:51] products from other great brands at MeleeDesignFirm.com? You can now find products from Anderson

[00:08:06] course Primitive Racing. I'm gonna have to go check that out because I'm gonna get some skid
[00:08:13] plates for my daughter's new cross track so go check out MeleeDesignFirm.com and see what they
[00:08:18] have to offer for your Subaru. Thank you so much Melee for sponsoring the SUBI and U podcast
[00:08:24] and now we will get into this conversation with Jonathan and Evie and hear all about their
[00:08:31] Subaru's because they have more than one and more than two, they have more than three so let's check it out. Here we go.
[00:08:39] All right, welcome to the podcast Jonathan. How's it going?
[00:08:59] Doing good. Yeah, it's uh, it's been kind of like overcast weather all day. It's like
[00:09:06] it feels good outside but it doesn't look good. It's kind of just, I don't know, gloomy looking
[00:09:12] but not bad. It's just yeah, it could be better. The weather's been good though. I've been having
[00:09:17] the windows open, letting the cold air come in. Yeah, those feel good so uh yeah, welcome to
[00:09:23] the podcast. It's uh, I know we've been talking about this for a while and we've been hanging
[00:09:29] out with our west side-ish crew when we can but uh before we get anything else started I have to
[00:09:36] ask you the most important question whether you prefer waffles or pancakes. I'm gonna have to go
[00:09:42] with the waffles. Oh come on man, everybody's disappointing me lately with the waffles.
[00:09:47] I'm a big texture guy when I eat so yeah no I get that waffles are good but okay all right
[00:09:54] this episode's over. Talk to y'all later. Bye. Now so obviously you and EVR fans of Subaru with
[00:10:03] having four Subaru's and so like when did your fascination and love of Subaru began? Like when
[00:10:10] and how did that start? I would say my love for Subaru's came from when I was little, I was
[00:10:17] always into action sports. I was a skater kid growing up and I would always you know binge watch
[00:10:25] like the X Games. Oh yeah. And um you know they'll have like a different sport every single day for
[00:10:33] like a whole week. Yeah. I'd watch like you know skateboarding BMX and then in 2006 is when they
[00:10:40] had rally cross. Oh okay nice. And I vividly remember that uh that's when Colin McCray,
[00:10:50] Tres Pastrana and Ken Block that year was where Colin McCray he flips his Subaru
[00:10:58] and he flips and he lands you know back on his wheels and finishes the race.
[00:11:04] Wow I didn't see that yeah I watched the X Games but mostly just skateboarding and that
[00:11:09] was like how I knew of Bucky Lassick but yeah I didn't really like I didn't I know I didn't follow
[00:11:17] like action sports as much as a lot of other people did but yeah I can see how that would
[00:11:22] get you interested in Subaru's. So it's I guess seeing it flip over or land upright and then
[00:11:27] continue the race you're like oh yeah that's an awesome car. Yeah well yeah and like Subaru is just
[00:11:35] it's like all my world's just kind of combined you know we had like you know Bucky Lassick, Dave,
[00:11:41] Mira you know all these all these guys that were from all these extreme sports you know.
[00:11:46] And then driving Subaru's yeah yeah so like once you kind of saw that were you like okay I want
[00:11:53] to have a Subaru someday? I always thought there were um like awesome cars. I never thought
[00:12:00] about it when I first got my first car. Okay my first car was a 1990 80 clips. Oh okay was it the uh
[00:12:08] just a regular eclipse or was like a GST or GSX? It was a GS. Oh okay so it wasn't the turbo. It wasn't
[00:12:15] the turbo but it was pretty heavily modded. Yeah those were I love those body styles one of my
[00:12:21] buddies had a GSX and he bought it used so whoever bought whoever had it before him
[00:12:27] did some stuff to the exhaust and some other things and I think was insanely fast that was a lot of fun
[00:12:33] so yeah those are cool cars. The eclipse I had I got it from a friend of my brothers
[00:12:40] and um he had had it in his family for like over 10 years. Okay yeah and like they love that car
[00:12:48] they just threw so much money into it. It had like so many accessories headers shrub bar braces and
[00:12:58] you know everything yeah so I got it for a good deal. It was fun while it lasted.
[00:13:05] The timing belt broke on it. Oh okay yeah all the valves bent and it was kind of that's no good.
[00:13:11] So when did you so like all things so you have four Subarus now are these the only
[00:13:16] Subarus you've ever had or have you had some before these? These are the only Subarus we've had yeah.
[00:13:22] Okay so which one did you get first and then like why get that Subaru like what was the first one you
[00:13:30] got? So my first Subaru was the 2007 Subaru Impreza 2.5i Sportwagon. Okay and that's
[00:13:39] Subumu right? Subumu yeah yeah and um I don't know if a lot of people know this the the
[00:13:47] Impreza wagons that are like one solid color those are Sportwagon they're not up exports.
[00:13:54] Okay gotcha yeah because I know there were like some different iterations back then and I don't
[00:13:59] I don't know them all but I've really no difference it's just a appearance package really.
[00:14:03] Okay gotcha so go I guess go ahead and let us know what Subarus you do have because obviously
[00:14:10] you have that one but what are the other three? The other three is also another Hawkeye another it's a
[00:14:16] 2.6 2.5i also. Yeah it looks nice. Impreza sedan. Yeah it looks nice. That one's pretty uh that
[00:14:28] that's my fiancee's first car. Yeah it's on it's white on white on uh 1552 tarmacs it's uh
[00:14:37] has the STI wing on it we bought it like that I know some people hate on yeah yeah hey we bought
[00:14:43] it that way okay don't hate on us hate on the person that had it before us. Yeah but it looks
[00:14:48] pretty good it looks pretty good um we we that is a very long-term project it's her first car
[00:14:53] she sent a ment to it sent a mental to it so we don't we don't plan on selling it we don't plan on
[00:14:59] you know getting rid of it it's we're just gonna keep throwing money into that car where we eventually
[00:15:05] want to do the swap like the STI swap and yeah because these in presence they're they're going
[00:15:10] up in value yeah they're becoming collector you know they're feature classics yeah and um
[00:15:17] you know the way I see it you know I still want to I still want to an STI but this car you know it's
[00:15:24] what we plan on doing to it is like what uh Bucky you know did with his yeah he got very basic model
[00:15:32] in preza mm-hmm and they're just work the bucket yeah they're just like logos man you could swap them
[00:15:39] you know they they have all the mounting points already on on the chassis nice yeah and then
[00:15:45] you have two other ones where the other two the other one is a 2019 Subaru cross-track premium yeah
[00:15:52] and that's Evie's that's my fiance's and then my daily is also a 2015 Subaru outback limited okay yeah
[00:16:05] a lot of Subaru's in the driveway I know I pulled up and I was like they're all here
[00:16:09] because I know you had the impressive sedan in the garage for a while now it's
[00:16:14] now it's on the driveway so yeah they're all out there uh on display we've become a Subaru family
[00:16:21] I've convinced my my brother to get a Subaru my mom to get a Subaru oh nice there you go
[00:16:27] yeah when you bought your impressive did you buy it because of what you saw in rally cross and
[00:16:33] because you started to kind of have a love for Subaru and you're like okay now I want one
[00:16:37] especially after the eclipse but yeah especially after the eclipse it being a coup
[00:16:43] it was just so hard to get people yeah you have to like get out fold the seat you know have them
[00:16:50] crawl yeah I remember getting into that it's like yeah when somebody's got a two-door car you're
[00:16:56] like hey uh pull the seat up and then try to climb in the back and squeeze in there and
[00:17:02] this is going to be a fun ride in the backseat all cramped up and especially us being dog people
[00:17:10] we have our our German Shepherd and that's one thing I thought about when getting a car yeah and uh
[00:17:15] the Subaru checked all the boxes you know it's four doors it has cargo space it's all we would drive
[00:17:21] I could go anywhere I want yeah and the wagon too being like having the hatchback that gives you
[00:17:27] so much more space you know and it's that's nice like I couldn't I couldn't go back to having
[00:17:32] a car with a trunk unless I had a second car you know but I'd always have to have one
[00:17:38] with cargo space like that yeah and it's funny I basically use that like as a work truck yeah
[00:17:45] yeah we'll talk about that later because I know you have some pretty cool finds at work but uh
[00:17:50] yeah so like when you first bought it because you have a lift on it now but when you bought it
[00:17:57] like did you have any intentions of doing mods to it and did you ever plan on like taking it
[00:18:03] off road or like hey I just want to have a Subaru and this is this is you know it's got more space
[00:18:08] it's got the cargo area you know it's good for the dogs and and and it's all we'll drive
[00:18:13] I mean were you thinking about like going places that you weren't able to go in your
[00:18:18] eclipse or other cars well when I first got it I was uh I've always been into tuners okay and
[00:18:27] like uh stands and like that kind of style so I had originally planned on just like buying it
[00:18:33] lowering it you know putting some wide wheels cambering in yeah and uh you know I never I never
[00:18:41] I never got to that point I think it was during Hurricane Harvey that really like switched
[00:18:47] that in my brain where I'm like man I need a lift why would I want to lower it in this climate
[00:18:53] city yeah so it's a funny story so it was like the night where it just it just started flooding
[00:19:03] like crazy my front neighbor where uh my fiance is like best friend to her okay not front but like
[00:19:11] alone it's on the same street yeah and her boyfriend she was he's uh he was working at a Valero
[00:19:18] and uh he needed a ride so we're like let's take the super yeah and uh we
[00:19:26] man I cannot like explain how crazy it was raining like Harvey was something else yeah it was it was
[00:19:36] and like on her way to this gas station which is only like 15 minutes away right as we're
[00:19:46] driving that way there's already roads flooding yeah so we're like all right well let's just take
[00:19:52] the shortcut around this neighborhood we'll get there and um we go we pick them up we he's like
[00:20:00] grab some snacks we're here okay we grab some snacks we grab a drink and then we um we start
[00:20:06] driving back and a kid you know at the drive back was like twice as long just because the roads
[00:20:13] we took to get there were already flooded yeah so we're already we're we made it back into the
[00:20:21] neighborhood and our our road is already flooded so I'm like man how am I gonna get how am I gonna
[00:20:29] get home so um I hopped the curb and I'm like I'm driving on the sidewalk and and there's one
[00:20:38] house that had uh I'm not on like their actual lawn I'm like on the sidewalk yeah yeah like half
[00:20:45] on the street half on the sidewalk okay well there's a little grass part like oh yeah the side of the
[00:20:50] sidewalk yeah so I was like driving on that part and there's one house that had very very soft
[00:20:55] dirt and my half my car is still on the sidewalk and the other half just dug straight into the
[00:21:02] dirt so just bottomed out on the on the sidewalk like the concrete yeah and it just got stuck there
[00:21:09] I'm like man if if I had just a little more clearance I probably would have been able to get out
[00:21:15] and um so the all-wheel drive just wasn't helping you being bottomed out huh yeah we try to get it
[00:21:21] out but uh we just left there overnight and the water like it rose and it only got because the
[00:21:31] the car was at an angle from where it was like dug in and it water did get in oh yeah but it
[00:21:37] wasn't too much it didn't get into the engine or nothing like that but I'm like man it'd be awesome
[00:21:42] if I could just put a snorkel on this and just yeah yeah from so I guess from then on you're like okay
[00:21:50] well let's make this thing a little taller yeah it's not it's not the reason the the same reason
[00:21:55] most people go lifted but I'm like man I want to make this a go anywhere car you know yeah
[00:22:00] especially around here I mean you know my car isn't lifted but it's it's higher than
[00:22:05] than the car I had before so like I feel with the rain if it starts to flood a little bit you
[00:22:13] know at least I'm a little bit higher up but just just raining period and you know being out on the
[00:22:19] roads I feel like being all-wheel drive I feel much safer driving you know all-wheel drive especially
[00:22:25] here in Houston there's one time I put that to the test me and my co-worker we're on a
[00:22:30] lunch break and near our job there's a football stadium it was wide open wide open parking lot
[00:22:43] and this day was it was just raining like crazy so it was all wet they were like my co-worker's
[00:22:48] like let's go do some donuts and let's let's test out that uh the all-wheel drive because we've
[00:22:52] seen those videos of people do all-wheel drive donuts and stuff. Let's try to do some donuts.
[00:22:56] Yeah and I'm going for it and I'm just doing circles. I know.
[00:23:01] It's not breaking traction and you know I'm doing everything I can I you know I pull the ABS fuse
[00:23:06] that that's the yeah that that's our way of our traction control. Yeah yeah I know this guy
[00:23:14] that I had on the podcast a while back he him and they maybe at least one other person maybe
[00:23:20] two other people they actually put in a switch where they can like basically bypass the fuse
[00:23:25] and and do that but yeah I I mean I've been in an asphalt parking lot which is slicker than concrete
[00:23:31] and I had trouble getting it to slide so like being on a wet surface it's asphalt and having trouble
[00:23:37] getting it to slide I'm like I feel so much safer driving it in the rain. Yeah. So yeah it's uh I
[00:23:44] don't know they're good cars they're fun they're safe. There's times where I get a little too
[00:23:48] cocky with them I'm on the highway and people have their blinkers on and I'm just like cruising
[00:23:53] on by. Yeah yeah yeah I'm good here so so I guess uh that Subaru the name is Subamu and then
[00:24:05] is that correct? It goes by a couple names but yeah it recently has been going by Subamu.
[00:24:10] What's the other name? Oh reliable. Oh yeah yeah so what do you have names for the other three?
[00:24:17] To be honest the Outback ever since I bought it man I love the creature comforts and the
[00:24:26] bells and whistles but I just haven't fallen in love with it to be honest. Yeah it's an Outback
[00:24:31] Limited has like you know everything but it's not my it's not the Subamu. Yeah it's just I
[00:24:37] mean it's a different car and it's like it's you know if you bought I guess you bought it
[00:24:42] to be a daily so then it's kind of like has a different purpose and a different meaning so it's
[00:24:47] like not the same. Yeah because when I bought it you know I was like man you know I I've saw some
[00:24:52] other accounts on Instagram and I wanted to lift it and throw some wheels on and stuff like that
[00:24:58] I don't know I had never fell in love with it. Not that it's not a good car it's a great car
[00:25:04] it's just I didn't fall in love with it in that way where I'm like I want to you know
[00:25:09] just yeah yeah go all out on it. Yeah and so like with Evie with her two cars does she have names
[00:25:16] for hers? So the the the Hawkeye it's uh it's white so she named it Tiff or Tiffany. Okay yeah
[00:25:26] because it's just a basic white girl name. Yeah and the Cross Trek she named it just Tiff 2.0.
[00:25:36] Yeah it's uh I like it they're they're both nice looking so and we've had some fun in our Cross
[00:25:42] Tracks out in some mud the very limited access to off-roading we have around here but yeah it's uh
[00:25:50] I mean we do what we can. When you bought your Impresa was like was did you buy it and it was
[00:25:56] completely stock? It was 100% stock. How long did it stay that way? I would say
[00:26:03] not very long. What was the first thing you did to it? I was looking back at photos I thought the
[00:26:10] first thing I did was paint the wheels but the first thing I did was I changed out the the front badge
[00:26:15] to a JDM badge. Okay yeah it's like the the cherry blossom pink oh yeah with the the eye
[00:26:23] emblem on it. Okay so when did you buy it like what year? I bought that one in 2015.
[00:26:31] Okay yeah yes you've had it for a while yeah nine years yeah wow and it's uh it's it's pretty unique
[00:26:39] and I know it's uh it's it's got some that definitely has some Texas flair to it so
[00:26:47] talk about that. I just wanted to make it unique it's a it's a Texas car. Yeah but what do you
[00:26:55] have on it that like it makes it kind of you know noticeable and stand out a little bit more?
[00:27:01] I got some bull horns on the hood. Yeah you also wrapped the hood too but not a traditional wrap.
[00:27:07] Yeah so my hood it's wrapped in black leather yeah it's not very noticeable on like my Instagram
[00:27:14] stuff but once you see this car up close there's a lot of like little details. So what else have
[00:27:19] you done to it? I mean I know you've got obviously what you just talked about it does have a lift
[00:27:24] and then I mean you painted the wheels but you've you've got some other things that you've
[00:27:29] done to it as well. Yeah there's I don't think there's a part on the car I haven't touched.
[00:27:34] Yeah I just added those flares I think those are going to be temporary I want to I want to go with
[00:27:39] like some Carlton flares everything on this car right now isn't you know I love where the car is
[00:27:45] right now but there's uh I've done it the cheap way the budget way yeah there's gonna be a forever
[00:27:52] car so eventually I want to start putting like rarer parts on it and like brand name stuff on
[00:27:57] there. And you recently switched out the bumper too yeah yeah that looks good. So I've always wanted
[00:28:05] to do the bumper cut I eventually wanted to do a ballhouse style like tube front end bumper yeah
[00:28:12] and um I've always just like been scared to like cut my original bumper just because I'm like oh
[00:28:18] man I don't know if I would have even liked it and uh I was growing up through marketplace
[00:28:23] and there was a guy who was uh he was just trying to clean out his garage and uh he put like this engine
[00:28:30] and stuff like that for sale and then he put a Hawkeye bumper and he said free come take it
[00:28:36] it's broken and I shot him a message and I didn't hear reply for like four months and he
[00:28:44] he he he replies to me and I'm like oh wow and he's like yeah come come get it if you want to
[00:28:51] I just saw your message uh surprise he still had it and I'm like yeah man I go get it where you at
[00:28:58] he's like oh South Houston and you know people don't understand how big Houston is yeah it's like
[00:29:05] it's like an hour away we're still in Houston yeah I know it's crazy because I know you you had your
[00:29:11] your OEM bumper in the garage and the other one on there. I picked it up and uh I did the
[00:29:17] bumper cut I'm really liking how it looks yeah I know it looks good then you were starting to put
[00:29:23] your uh fog lights in there too and get that all set up yeah I'm uh adjusting my putting putting
[00:29:29] on on my lights again I don't know if uh you know on my Instagram you can see my card it has that
[00:29:35] Yokohama decal on the bumper I'm gonna redo those and put it on on that bumper yeah and um
[00:29:43] you know that that sticker on there it's the only thing because for a while I had um
[00:29:49] the you know the original Subaru livery on the side yeah yeah the blue and yellow and whatever like
[00:29:56] that and uh I took it off but the only thing that stayed was that Yokohama sticker on the
[00:30:01] bumper okay yeah I'm rocking Geolanders on my car it just it just kind of stayed on there
[00:30:08] so I'm like I'm gonna I'm gonna have to put on the new bumper yeah so what other mods do you have
[00:30:14] in mind for the future I know you said that you wanted to switch out some of the budget friendly
[00:30:19] things that you've done with more name brand stuff but are there any like big or specific mods
[00:30:25] that you're wanting to do? I need to put a snorkel on yeah it's funny that's one of the first
[00:30:31] things I wanted to put on but yeah been trying to find a snorkel on a budget yeah yeah that's
[00:30:38] understandable yeah so like what would you say is your favorite mod? there's a lot yeah I don't know
[00:30:46] if you call this a mod I have a a Broadway mirror I don't know if you know what that is yeah yeah
[00:30:53] so I put that mirror in and since my car is wagon I could I could see out of every single window
[00:30:58] even the quarter windows oh nice like I have no blind spots that's good yeah that's one of the first
[00:31:04] things I put on the car no that's good that's nice that it gives you a lot of real like big mod but it's
[00:31:10] one of those it's like the little things you know yeah but that's like an everyday like every time
[00:31:15] you drive your visibility and that's also safety too because then like if you could see everything
[00:31:21] that's gonna make your driving experience a lot better so yeah that's not that's not like a
[00:31:26] minimal thing at all you know I'd probably say my uh my Corvo racing seat also oh yeah
[00:31:34] it's funny when I put that in like it just changed the whole dynamic of the car yeah it just feels
[00:31:39] like like a rally car when I get in it too yeah especially your your experience driving it you
[00:31:45] know yeah so are you I mean I know you have the four now I know you have plans for the
[00:31:52] Impresa sedan and your Impresa wagon but do you have do you see any other Subaru's in the lineup
[00:31:59] for at some point actual other cars so we've been in the talks of eventually getting a wilderness
[00:32:08] oh yeah which one uh we're thinking for a cross track wilderness yeah those are nice
[00:32:15] eventually down the line yeah I know it's uh I've mentioned it many times before but it's like
[00:32:22] I really really like those but it would be really hard for me to get a give up my manual
[00:32:27] yeah there's a there's a few changes on the new cross tracks there I'm like a little iffy
[00:32:32] yeah like uh the e-brake there's no more like e-brake handle yeah and the like electronic
[00:32:38] yeah and like that's one of the things like on the second gen cross track where like it it feels
[00:32:45] like it's still like analog or you have control of the car you're part of the car and I think that's
[00:32:51] one of the things that like didn't make me fall in love with my outback that it has a lot of tech
[00:32:57] it has a lot of you know it has electronics yeah it doesn't have the e-brake it has
[00:33:02] like the push brake yeah the button e-brake yeah that makes sense yeah I mean it's like
[00:33:08] it's it's kind of like you are less connected to the car and there's more things about the car that
[00:33:16] are doing things for you rather than you having control kind of like you said having control
[00:33:21] of the car and you know being more part of it but I totally get that that makes sense because
[00:33:27] even for my outback I mean my my impresa it's an automatic but like it I still feel everything on
[00:33:37] this car yeah like right now one of my like one of my front right wheel it has a little wobble to it
[00:33:45] but I already know what it is because you know I know this car I feel it's crazy like it feels
[00:33:51] like I'm part of this car so I already know it's a tie rod in that and I need a replace I know like
[00:33:58] here and you know we have subi festexes that we had this past year which is really nice but we've
[00:34:04] also had the big event at Gilman Subaru for quite a while now so how many times have you been to
[00:34:12] the big event since how many years or no I think we did what the 13th annual this past year or something
[00:34:22] I've been attending since uh big event six oh yeah you can go for a while yeah so big event six I
[00:34:30] still didn't have my Subaru actually have the big event six right here oh my collection
[00:34:37] so I don't have the year on it 2014 okay yeah okay yeah so you since you bought yours in 2015 yeah
[00:34:48] so that year I just went as a spectator yeah oh yeah so okay so in December it was big event 14
[00:34:58] yeah so that's a lot yeah so you've been going there for almost like half of them or more than half of
[00:35:06] them yeah what would you say is your favorite thing about the big event I love the big event
[00:35:13] because it's here in Texas or in this area of Houston you know we have a we have a lot of
[00:35:20] Subaru fans a lot of Subaru enthusiasts yeah and it's one of those things where everyone gets
[00:35:25] together you know the whole community is there there's people on instagram you know friends you've
[00:35:32] made like through the internet and stuff and that's the place where you meet up yeah and it's a fun
[00:35:38] environment you got you know they always bring out like free food and celebrities celebrities
[00:35:44] there's one time they did a firework show oh nice that was the grand opening it wasn't a big
[00:35:50] event but it was a grand opening of Gilman Subaru Norse okay yeah I know and we have like we have some
[00:35:57] we have some groups here in Houston like I know we have Space City Subbies and I think there's
[00:36:05] some other groups too but and then there's the event that they have at Red Circle Ice Cream for
[00:36:12] Riggs and Churros and but I haven't been to that in a while I just haven't been keeping up with
[00:36:18] it and I think I usually have something going on but and then now we have our west side-ish crew
[00:36:23] which is kind of cool that we just decided to form up but uh so like would you when you go to the
[00:36:30] big event like who have you met there as far as like you know famous people so I've met Craig Drew
[00:36:39] Bucky Lastic, Travis Pastrana, David Higgins, Scott Speed, I met him feel bad I didn't get
[00:36:48] out of his autograph though yeah I was I was telling you about it man I don't know if he's
[00:36:55] listening to it sorry but this was like the first year Scott Speed was was on the team and I'm like
[00:37:03] I didn't know he was like um actually like gonna be a part of the team because this is when Craig
[00:37:10] Drew and David Higgins like kind of left so I'm like oh he's probably just like filling in for
[00:37:14] right now and stuff like that yeah and then he stuck around for a while yeah so I just you know
[00:37:20] Travis Pastrana and him were at the same table and um you know I'm uh Travis Pastrana was just
[00:37:26] stealing the show yeah I just grabbed his autograph I'm like thank you just walk away
[00:37:34] no hate man he's proving himself yeah no he did amazing so but also know that you have a certain
[00:37:43] item that you use to get people's autographs so what is it that you have because that's what
[00:37:49] that was pretty cool my Sun Visor my mirror I down on my wagon every time there's a uh like a big event or
[00:38:02] you know I'll unscrew it the the mirror the only it all has like a philip screw yeah and um I'll take
[00:38:09] it off and take it to the signing table and have it autographed so I have like everyone's autograph
[00:38:14] on there yeah it's part of the subhumane yeah no that's pretty cool that's a good idea because I know
[00:38:19] some people have them sign the dash but you know if you can't have them come to your car take your
[00:38:24] car to them yeah basically what you're doing yeah because there's been times where I'm like oh man
[00:38:30] I wish he you know he came by my car and it's all in but I know like a lot of times at these
[00:38:36] events they're busy and you know they're not gonna walk by yeah they don't have time to go
[00:38:41] by every single car so that's really smart to take that and feel like I'll just bring a piece of
[00:38:46] my car to you and you can sign it there so who is there somebody that you have not met that you
[00:38:51] would like to meet I really wanted is uh I really wanted to meet Ken Block yeah yeah he's one of
[00:38:59] those guys where I'm like I always looked up to he's a you know one of the action sports guys
[00:39:05] you know mm-hmm yeah and it's funny because I have this I have this book right here I have to
[00:39:11] have to go through with you later but this book it's a uh it's called 2006 a retrospective in photos
[00:39:17] and it's like it has all the photos from when they um from 2006 I don't want to look through it yeah
[00:39:24] and I had got this one signed by Travis Pastrana and that's the year when Travis Pastrana and Ken
[00:39:29] Block uh raced together on the Subaru team oh that's really cool so I had Travis Pastrana sign it
[00:39:35] and I wanted to get Ken Block to sign it as well this book was given to me by Nick he's the transportation
[00:39:42] guy oh yeah yeah I know who that is yeah I've met him before yeah I think he retired now but uh he
[00:39:50] he's so friendly he yeah I used to do a lot of the Subaru ambassador stuff yeah you know get there
[00:39:56] early with like the the big events and stuff like that help out uh you know get with him and you know
[00:40:02] we set everything up and you know he was he's super friendly yeah I think I met him at uh
[00:40:10] Subifest California I think that was where I met him so yeah and uh it's either there or
[00:40:16] Subaru Flatfest I can't remember which one but yeah he was really really nice guy yeah um
[00:40:21] as I wanted these events he uh he gave me that book and I love that book yeah I was that was nice
[00:40:28] of him yeah to give you the book that was really cool I know it's it's it's really fun and nice to
[00:40:34] see like how friendly so many people are and how giving people are too you know and just giving a
[00:40:42] helpful and uh just excited for each other to see you progress in your build or in your
[00:40:50] Subaru journey you know whatever so it's just it's nice to have that support out there so also
[00:40:57] you're obviously a fan of rally but I guess it was when you started watching the x games and they
[00:41:02] brought in rally cross I guess that's kind of where you started becoming a fan of rally cross
[00:41:06] and rally because you know I I seen I seen these rally cars and they're just so raw so you know
[00:41:14] powerful yeah yeah so if you could go to like any rally like stage rally event which one do you think
[00:41:22] you would want to go to the uh 100 acre woods yeah I think that's man there so there was one year
[00:41:32] I think it was 2013 I think and there's a there's an event out here called Texas 2k
[00:41:43] is a super nationals or that's what it used to be called but it's you know a huge tree car racing
[00:41:52] event okay and we're just coming back from the track and there is a a bj's a restaurant yeah and
[00:42:00] there's a uh a Subaru rally car like full built Subaru rally car in just parked in the in the
[00:42:09] parking lot and I told my brother because he was driving like pull over man I need to see this car
[00:42:14] and we pulled over and I had like all the decals on the side and it wasn't a Subaru car it was a
[00:42:21] privately owned or yeah but uh it had like the 100 acre woods and forest and is it the guy that
[00:42:28] comes to the big event that has his car out there and he has like the rally lights on the front no no
[00:42:34] okay somebody else yeah I think this was a I think it was a blah by but it had like a full cage like
[00:42:39] it was a legit like built rally car wow and I'm like man that is so cool yeah yeah yeah it's I mean
[00:42:48] I would love to make it out to a stage rally at some point but I think it'd be a lot of fun to
[00:42:53] see that and just like hear and see the cars driving by so fast and you know digging into the dirt as
[00:43:00] they go around a corner or something and I think that'd be a cool experience hopefully someday
[00:43:05] yeah the snow drift is also one of one yeah I'd want to go too being that we where where we live here
[00:43:12] you know have you been able to take your Subaru off-road much at all and and like where have
[00:43:18] you gone because I mean I know we we've gone to the little you know our little fun spots but have
[00:43:24] you gone anywhere else like any net Texas parks or anything so we'd like to we'd like to go fishing a
[00:43:32] lot most of the off-roading I do with this car is um like at the beach okay there's there's
[00:43:37] there's an area on the very end of Galveston called San Luis Pass and it's it's basically like
[00:43:44] you know no mass land yeah there's like sand dunes I wouldn't say no mass land there's rules out there
[00:43:51] but um yeah there's no there's rarely like cops and stuff but uh yeah there there's like some
[00:44:01] little trails out there okay yeah and then um we've we've gone up to like the San Houston
[00:44:09] forest area okay yeah cheeseburger loop area yeah yeah so like I know you seen I'm sure you've seen like
[00:44:18] people on Instagram like going off-roading and epic spots all over the country but yeah
[00:44:26] is there a spot that you've seen that you're like man I would love to just I'd love to go there
[00:44:31] anywhere Pacific Northwest yeah just the scenery yeah it's good up there it's nice
[00:44:38] yeah because there's a Pacific Northwest and then they've got good stuff in California Colorado
[00:44:43] Oregon I mean there's there's so many spots out west even like up in the northeast they have a
[00:44:47] lot of fire roads yeah yeah we don't have much here man I visited Colorado but no I didn't we
[00:44:56] didn't take my car and and it's so beautiful up there yeah I mean Colorado even if you're not
[00:45:01] going up there to off-road it's just beautiful to see the mountains and everything but like some
[00:45:05] people out there just take it for granted yeah I've asked don't know how lucky they are yeah I mean
[00:45:10] I've asked that question to people before that live like in Colorado or Pacific Northwest or
[00:45:16] something you know like do you do you realize like how blessed you are with where you live and
[00:45:23] how much because people there's some people are like oh there's like so many trails that I haven't
[00:45:28] even explored yet and I'm like must be nice yeah we don't have that problem here but now I mean
[00:45:34] some people are like you know I think some people know that they're blessed and they don't take it for
[00:45:40] granted and then I think some some people might be just a little bit like you know well this is
[00:45:46] you know this is where I live and I'm used to and it's no big deal and you know but
[00:45:50] I mean for us here to be able to have access to stuff like that would be a really big deal
[00:45:57] yeah there's times where I just I want to go off-roading and like
[00:46:01] I just so these spots were I have found mud thank you by the way yeah because the first
[00:46:09] time I messaged him like all right these are I sent them like coordinates on the map and
[00:46:13] like these are the spots I go money and there's no like public trails or nothing like that so
[00:46:20] I'm like let me just go on like Google Maps and you know Google Earth and and like just
[00:46:28] look for spots that uh that look have potential yeah and then I just go scout them out and check them out
[00:46:35] and you know see how how much how privately owned they are yeah yeah yeah I mean because we have
[00:46:43] like the Sam Houston National Forest which is nice it's wooded and everything but it's just gravel
[00:46:49] roads you know I mean even like there was this one little stretch that was a forest service
[00:46:57] road that used to get mudded out and used to be fun and then the last time I went through there they
[00:47:04] widened it and flattened it out so it's not fun anymore yeah and but I mean we okay so we we do have
[00:47:11] Bastrop and hopefully it'll stick around for a while because they've started putting looks
[00:47:17] like they've started selling lots in there so Bastrop if Bastrop goes away that's gonna suck
[00:47:22] because that's it's only an hour and a half away so it's not too bad I know you're talking about that
[00:47:28] in our chat but I gotta make a trip out there soon yeah I know I don't need to so I know y'all have
[00:47:35] done some camping but do you have like any any road trips planned in the near future we do plan
[00:47:42] on having a trip up to Colorado yeah in the Subaru yeah okay uh whoa in the cross-strait
[00:47:50] yeah that'd be good it has less miles and more reliable yeah not that mine isn't but yeah I know it's
[00:47:58] newer yeah that's so yeah that's gonna be fun there'll be and I mean there's there's people
[00:48:06] out there too that you can connect with that can take you some to some spots yeah that's the
[00:48:10] that's the crazy thing about Instagram like you I've made so many friends and you know if I
[00:48:15] wanted to go to Japan I got people over there yeah I know I mean it's like you connect with people all
[00:48:21] over the place so it's like if you're gonna go somewhere you just like because a lot of people
[00:48:26] that you connect with they'll almost like be upset if you don't be like hey because that's for
[00:48:32] example I went took my son out to Lake Tahoe we flew into Sacramento and there's a guy that lives
[00:48:41] in Sacramento we're very close to it named Anthony he goes by Judy the subi and he was seemed a little
[00:48:48] maybe kind of upset with me that I didn't let him know I was coming out there but I apologize and I
[00:48:54] said hey you know this is like a son for I said this is a trip for just me and my son
[00:49:00] because I wanted to bring him out here and you know just spend time with him so Anthony's
[00:49:04] cool and he's understanding so but sorry Anthony but definitely next time do you have a like a well
[00:49:13] first of all if you could drive someone else's Subaru for a day who's would it be somebody
[00:49:18] or connected with in the community so there's a uh I gotta pull it up come on Jonathan
[00:49:26] are you gonna come join us for a little bit
[00:49:28] I had a found it okay so one of the supers I really want to drive I haven't connected with him
[00:49:37] but I love his build it's a uh his name on instagram is Mikey
[00:49:44] Mike it's M-I-K-E-E-Y-1-3-3-7 okay and he has a Hawkeye STI but he has a turbo one
[00:49:57] uz swap in it if you don't know what that one uz is it's basically a Tundra Toyota Tundra v8
[00:50:06] yeah so I worked for Toyota for a couple years so I I love teotas yeah don't hate me
[00:50:16] this uh this interview is over no it's Subaru's number one though um the only reason I work
[00:50:23] that teotas because it wasn't an ambassador yeah you know it has that like raw v8 you know one uz
[00:50:32] power yeah and uh it's lifted it uh doesn't that account to me because I want to check that out
[00:50:39] yeah there's well you know there's a guy that dropped a Ferrari engine in his Subaru and
[00:50:45] and he rallies it yeah another car that uh that I want to drive is uh his name is uh wrc wannabe
[00:50:55] oh yeah I haven't connected with him either but he he basically has a full wrc like body kit on his
[00:51:03] STI nice so it looks it looks like a legit rally car from 2006 like that era yeah and um man
[00:51:15] that just looked so cool yeah do you have a dream Subaru a dream Subaru yeah if somebody just said
[00:51:23] hey you can just money is no concern you can have this Subaru if you want it
[00:51:31] if you could if you can't tell I'm a Hawkeye guy yeah so just world rally blue Hawkeye STI
[00:51:37] gold bbs wheels there you go just completely stock yeah I think I'd be happy with that all right
[00:51:44] that's fair that's fair maybe a LeVorg yeah a LeVorg yeah yeah I've I've seen those like couple of
[00:51:52] time just looking at them on you know on the looking form on google and stuff those are pretty
[00:51:58] nice so there's a new one called a LeVorg I think it's called a LeVorg layback and it's uh
[00:52:06] it's it's lifted from factory oh nice so I'm like man why hasn't no one like you know throw some off-road
[00:52:15] all terrains on it and made a like uh yeah like yeah a souped up uh
[00:52:22] now they have overland right yeah I know like I mentioned earlier we have
[00:52:27] space city subis also have mountain routex's and of course a west side is crew but like
[00:52:32] what involvement have you had with any of the groups outside of west side is crew because
[00:52:38] obviously we're all here um with space city subis I'm cool with a lot of people in there
[00:52:47] mostly just gone to the events and stuff like that but yeah you know um and then with mountain
[00:52:53] route uh man I mean we know Karla yeah yes she's uh one of the admins yeah awesome I found mountain
[00:53:03] route pretty early on yeah yeah well got my car in 2015 man the uh the community was so
[00:53:10] so much different back then in 2015 a lot of things have changed yeah because I mean I didn't even
[00:53:16] find out about it until like 2021 really well I don't know when they started but I remember their
[00:53:23] Instagram had I don't think they had even a thousand followers yet when I when I found them
[00:53:30] so I'm like early on I knew I wanted to lift my car yeah I know you start connecting with
[00:53:36] all these other people and seeing their accounts and their subarus and it's like I want to do that
[00:53:41] yeah because um early on most of the like GDGG style subarus they weren't really fully done like
[00:53:54] the way these newer subarus are done was like brand name you know you know specifically made off-road
[00:54:02] stuff yeah for these cars a lot of these older cars there were you know custom stuff or you know a
[00:54:09] lot of these people that had these lifted subarus is because they're working on ranches and stuff
[00:54:13] like that are just needed just to get around yeah they weren't like doing it for like to hit the
[00:54:20] trails really and there are very very few options back then compared to now yeah for lifts yeah I
[00:54:27] know there's there's a lot more options now and uh it's uh because I mean it's it's nice to see that
[00:54:33] there's a lot more companies too that are like getting on board and I mean it's smart because
[00:54:39] there's a lot of demand for yeah plenty of demand and it's just continuing to grow and then of
[00:54:44] course subarus taking notice by coming out with the wilderness additions so you know it's getting
[00:54:50] it's getting out there more and more do you want to put some headphones on and yeah because
[00:54:54] I have a couple of questions for you hello evie how's it going it's going welcome to the podcast
[00:55:01] thank you thank you so I have one I have I just have a few questions for you but the first question is
[00:55:08] what do you prefer waffles or pancakes I think waffles yeah yeah okay okay more waffle people
[00:55:18] that's fair yes I mean I like waffles but I like pancakes a little bit but I guess it depends on
[00:55:24] like what and where yeah that's fair because I like uh like if we go to a cracker barrel I guess
[00:55:31] I'll get like the pancakes the blueberry ones yeah they got that crispy edge yeah yeah but then
[00:55:37] yes you see it's the crispy edge it does it for me and so that's why I say and I can't get that at
[00:55:42] home with when I'm doing pancakes so unless I'm just using the wrong batter but but yeah I mean I
[00:55:49] saw I mean I know people's argument with waffles is as they've got all the little
[00:55:52] pockets that you can get butter and syrup and stuff in which is very fair and then they're
[00:55:57] crunchy and I get that but see I'm 50 50 but waffles always have that like crispy to to it
[00:56:05] and like pancakes are like hit or miss true true okay I get that so uh so evie about your
[00:56:13] cross-track like the theme that you have with like all the bubbles and the decals like where did
[00:56:17] that come from I just want to do something different because I saw that a lot of people have like the
[00:56:22] the mountains and the the forest look or the hexagons or the stripes and stuff I just want to
[00:56:29] do something that I guess portrays me yeah the Japanese kawaii aspect of it there are you know
[00:56:38] some supers that have like the sailor moon stickers or the whatever stickers but I haven't
[00:56:45] really seen anybody else doing like the bubbles or like the I like the bubbles by the way it looks good
[00:56:51] so where did you find all that like the decals the decals yeah oh he designed them oh really yeah
[00:56:58] nice yeah I didn't know that yeah he designed them and then I just told him like I want it to look
[00:57:03] like this I want it to look like that um and then I've switched out a couple of them to where
[00:57:08] one side is the kromi side and one side is the my melody side and they added like what they
[00:57:13] portray like one of them's like the bat wings and one of them's like the angel wings before I had
[00:57:20] the animal crossing the one side was the sakura flowers and one side was the the leaves
[00:57:27] and then that's one of her I'm just like you know what I'm going to start doing the
[00:57:30] the actual bubbles and portraying the yeah the the kromi sanrio okay yeah and that's why
[00:57:38] inside I have also like the sanrio plushies yeah the head rests as well yeah I didn't know
[00:57:44] you designed those that's really cool so there is a point during the pandemic where I just like
[00:57:49] bit the bullet and bought a a cricket machine and um because I'm like man I want to make these
[00:57:56] just make random stickers for my car and now I have to go you know pay someone to do it and
[00:58:01] whatever yeah and um I just started making you know just uh like overlays and like uh
[00:58:11] you know decals for her Subaru there is a there is a um an overlay decal I made for her reflectors
[00:58:18] which is a paw print in a heart yeah and uh you know I just made it for her I didn't you know I'm
[00:58:24] not I didn't plan on selling any of this or anything and she posted it on a on a facebook group
[00:58:30] and people are like oh where can I buy those and stuff like that it was the 15 plus um Subaru cross
[00:58:37] cross track group yeah and everybody was just like where did you get that whatever um and I told him
[00:58:43] that he made it and then that's whenever he made himself an etsy account and yeah a lot of people
[00:58:47] started requesting so man man the way I know how popular subarus are in pacific northwest
[00:58:56] Colorado man that's where all my orders were going to yeah but man I it's it's a lot of work
[00:59:03] yeah so shout out to like eccentric and yeah i kind of just gave up on it yeah so the other question
[00:59:09] I have this is for both of y'all so like I guess you first Evie like what would you say about
[00:59:16] your Subaru that best matches your personality that's a good question yeah because I think I mean
[00:59:25] if you think about it this way I think the way that we all these cars allow us to express ourselves
[00:59:32] in a different kind of way so if you can kind so if you think about like what you like and the
[00:59:38] kind of person that you are like how your car emulates that as well
[00:59:45] I guess you could say like the the ruggedness that you can just go adventure out and I'm very
[00:59:53] adventurous I like to go it started with her honestly urban mushing and I wanted to be able
[01:00:00] to go places where you know normal cars can't really go um and so I guess that that part the
[01:00:08] adventurousness of it um and then obviously I'm me adding like the coiness to it um you should see
[01:00:15] her interior it's like the cute and like adventure side yeah I guess you can say that also
[01:00:22] portrays like the animal crossing like it was it's cute and adventurous yeah yeah her interior is uh
[01:00:30] she has all these plushies and hello kitty and Sanrio stuff in there and she has um
[01:00:37] her seat cup she has cc covers are like fitted to her seats and they're uh they're pink
[01:00:43] pink and bedazzled yeah like pink leather I'll have to go check them out then and then on the
[01:00:48] the mats um they're pink as well but I also got purple ones um and then I also got lights
[01:00:55] on the inside um like I said the the head rest the outlights yeah I also got the head rest
[01:01:01] so the my melody and karomi I definitely want to do more to it I definitely want to do um
[01:01:08] I keep forgetting the name of it um the sticker that goes all the way around
[01:01:14] delivery yeah yeah that I want to do that uh eventually yeah and the nice thing about like
[01:01:22] the the decals is it's a really good way to express yourself and make your car unique
[01:01:30] and not spend a lot of money because the decal especially and especially if you're doing
[01:01:34] you know but even if you were to buy decals let's say it's still a very inexpensive option to
[01:01:41] really bring out a different personality in your car and to like make it your own so yeah that's
[01:01:47] that's always nice that's what I how how I started off with just doing decals at first
[01:01:52] so but what about you what about suba move best match is your personality country
[01:01:59] man man the suba the suba move is uh it's careless it just goes with the flow I'll do
[01:02:06] whatever you know you know there's this car you know this car you know cars get fun when you stop caring
[01:02:15] about them wait when you're not scared uh you know drill some holes in the hood and start chopping
[01:02:22] some stuff up you know I can see that and like because when when you got you when you got a
[01:02:28] brand new car and you just baby it you can't really enjoy it so when when you start modifying
[01:02:34] and you know this car it just goes with the flow yeah that's how I am yeah what would okay so
[01:02:42] Evie if you could describe your Subaru in one word and what would it be kawaii kawaii okay yeah
[01:02:49] and you I don't know if you're aware of um there's a Japanese word it's called it's uh
[01:02:58] wabi sabi it's basically a concept of perfectly imperfect oh okay
[01:03:06] and that's how I describe my car it's perfectly imperfect there's
[01:03:13] there's a little dash so it's kind of it's hyphenated yeah yeah this car it's it's
[01:03:20] it's on instagram it looks nice yeah but in reality it's kind of like that meme of a Homer when he has
[01:03:28] all his skin just tied to the back yeah yeah so I for you Evie like what is something that brings
[01:03:37] a smile to your face whenever you think about your cross-track I guess that you know that I did
[01:03:45] it on my own that it's actually like my personal car um I didn't really have help from anybody else
[01:03:53] and either one actually well the white one um he helped me with a little bit the the blue one
[01:04:00] that it's actually mine that I you know almost unpaying for it so I'm just like it
[01:04:05] even better yeah so I'm just like I I you know it was a brand new car I gifted it for myself
[01:04:11] as a birthday present and I'm just like that's awesome yeah I'm like I'm gonna do this even if you
[01:04:16] know everybody's doubting me this is this is for me yeah yeah that's what brings a smile to my face
[01:04:22] is that it's mine and I did it and I'm doing it yeah that's good what about you Jonathan
[01:04:29] for me it's it's the fact that I've done all the work on that car like myself yeah like even
[01:04:38] down to mounting and balancing the tires yeah like when when I worked at Toyota um I took advantage
[01:04:45] and you know used the lifts and you know I did everything on this car by myself all the maintenance
[01:04:52] all the you know everything on this car is all done by me that's good that's something I
[01:04:58] you know I take like pride in because yeah and you should you know and like when I you know
[01:05:06] I walk out my house and I see him like man I can't believe this is you know we're just
[01:05:11] yeah I can't believe that's my car I never thought it would look like the way it does now
[01:05:16] yeah and who knows what it's gonna end up looking like yeah because back in 2017 I had done a photo
[01:05:23] shop of my car my car was completely stocked back then but I'd done a photo a photo shop
[01:05:28] and uh and I did a photo shop of it like lifted with stock cross-track wheels on it
[01:05:35] I thought that's all I could afford you know yeah like man let me just get on Facebook and get some
[01:05:39] like secondhand wheels and stuff like that it's looking good yeah even though it's perfectly
[01:05:46] imperfect yeah yeah so I know that like we're limited with being able to go off-road around here but
[01:05:53] like what would you each of you say that you like about living in the Houston area
[01:05:59] I mean I lived here all my life so I I always say that I always wanted to live up north
[01:06:06] I always wanted to live either like where there's a lot of snow so I always said either Michigan,
[01:06:12] Washington um he wants to do Colorado or Washington um I mean I do like living here
[01:06:21] because I mean I've always lived here all my life but uh yeah but eventually I feel like
[01:06:29] I want to venture off yeah yeah same but you know I do love living here in Houston
[01:06:37] it has a very rich culture um you know music food um you know you know what inspires my car my
[01:06:49] like the way it looks the mods like the horns you know have you know Mexican blanket on the
[01:06:54] back seat I took off the headrest on my back seat so it could look like a truck bench
[01:07:00] but um you know um Chicano and Tejano you know so these are all cultures that you know inspire my
[01:07:08] build what a lady so uh how how has owning your Subaru's and being a part of the community
[01:07:18] changed your lives I didn't really choose Subaru as my first car it chose you yeah well he introduced
[01:07:28] me to it definitely I really like the community definitely it's very wholesome everybody looks
[01:07:36] out for each other everybody helps each other um if you have a problem or anything like that
[01:07:41] you know everybody tries to find a solution or you know even goes to each other houses and help
[01:07:46] y'all help everybody out so when so like was the impresa your first car yes yeah and then so you've
[01:07:54] just had the impresa on the cross-track huh I thought yeah um I got the white one and then um that
[01:08:00] one started to give me a problem so I'm just like I want something that could be more for like
[01:08:04] daily and then that one could be our project car and then um so at the time when she had bought
[01:08:10] her car we had uh his and hers Hawkeyes yeah one wagon one sedan and uh
[01:08:20] and then that's when I got the the cross-track for myself and did you know like much about
[01:08:26] Subaru before you had yours and I really didn't like that's what I mean like he he introduced
[01:08:31] me to it with his his uh Hawkeye first and I was a super ambassador yeah and like I would just
[01:08:41] constantly talk about it constantly tell people how great you know Subaru is yeah and we also like
[01:08:47] the dog the dog stuff yeah like there were so like you know dog tested dog proof kind of thing
[01:08:54] um dog friendly dog friendly dog safe um they have a lot of like gadgets and stuff
[01:09:00] like that for the dogs to keep them safe um like the seatbelts and the hand makes and stuff
[01:09:07] like that for them I think that that that definitely like brought more more light into it um about me
[01:09:14] liking Subaru's more and more they do a lot of like events for the dogs they do a lot of
[01:09:20] donations for like the shelters and stuff like that which I you know would volunteer or
[01:09:25] um donate to occasionally so I really like that part of it yeah and then what about you
[01:09:32] Jonathan how has it changed your life it's helped me be more involved with um
[01:09:39] you know Subaru's morals I guess yeah it's uh you know Subaru is a it's a lifestyle kind of car
[01:09:48] you know you know it it's allowed me to you know do the things I want and you know like
[01:09:55] get out and then you know go camp and go fishing and stuff be able to you know load everything and
[01:10:02] and know that I'm gonna be alright know this car isn't gonna get stuck except in your neighbor's yard
[01:10:09] I was telling him about that yeah I was just waiting it was not fun it's not fun
[01:10:15] man and I left my drink in there oh that's the worst we had to leave the car behind and
[01:10:21] yeah I left on my in the rain but yeah by the end of the night it was like knee deep water yeah yeah
[01:10:28] yeah I mean the Subaru community is just like it's I think so many people end up buying these cars
[01:10:36] but there's I've just I've known I've known that just from doing the podcast there's a lot of
[01:10:41] people that buy a Subaru that didn't know anything about Subaru and then they buy it and then they find
[01:10:46] the community and then they're like that's their life you know it's like it becomes such a big
[01:10:52] part of them and they become such a part of the community around other people and like that's
[01:10:57] who their friends become those are the people that they hang out with and then like yeah it just
[01:11:01] becomes a culture and a lifestyle and then just a part of you and it's hard to get rid of that
[01:11:07] you know it's and when you meet so many amazing people it's just you know it feels like a family
[01:11:13] and it's and friends and like even like people that you don't end up talking to very often or
[01:11:20] maybe not see very often it's like when you see them again or talk to them again it's like hey
[01:11:24] how's it going you know it's like you never left I've seen this a lot with um a lot of the
[01:11:29] older style suber's that people you know want to see these cars um you know not get junked
[01:11:36] and stuff like that so they you know they love helping out they they you know I've gotten so many
[01:11:44] like just free parts for my car yeah just because you know people would rather have these parts go to
[01:11:51] a good home go to a car to get it off you know jack stands instead of you know get it you know
[01:11:56] throwing them away or trying to make some money off of them that you know these people they
[01:12:02] they want to see more suber's on the road do you think y'all will always own a suber I think so
[01:12:08] yeah yeah my mom she I convinced her to get out uh Forester that made the right choice
[01:12:17] or she made the right choice because uh she got into an accident with a 18-wheeler oh wait in
[01:12:23] her forester or with an uh yeah in the forester wow yeah how bad was that so um there's it was a 18-wheeler
[01:12:34] with a oversized load so I had a had like um like just these big like equipment or something like
[01:12:41] that just overhanging yeah and this over this 18-wheeler uh changed lanes and the equipment or
[01:12:49] whatever it was carrying basically hooked onto a car and pushed it out of the way and the car that it
[01:12:57] hooked on to basically just shot out to the right where my mom was and just side swiped her oh and
[01:13:04] just like spun out but you know it was it was a pretty bad accident the whole side of her forester
[01:13:10] was pretty messed up and all the airpods deployed yeah I was surprised it wasn't total yeah she okay
[01:13:18] yeah she's she's been fine yeah that's good she's uh no major injury yeah nothing crazy major
[01:13:26] you know I think she just had like some spine issues but like it wasn't like that yeah yeah
[01:13:31] she's uh she's getting all the uh she's medical attention then yeah she's taking advantage of the uh
[01:13:38] yeah that sounds bad yeah I mean I've there's been people that have been on to that have
[01:13:45] been in accidents and they're like I'm 100% sure that if I wasn't driving a super I wouldn't have
[01:13:50] walked away yeah because I know for sure if it was a different car because before then we had a
[01:13:56] forward expedition or a Lincoln oh yeah it was a Lincoln that way yeah yeah and I know that thing
[01:14:04] you know the crash ratings aren't nothing close to what a forester is yeah yeah that's crazy
[01:14:10] that stuff could happen so but as soon you know as soon as it happened my mom was just very
[01:14:16] disoriented and she she just didn't know what was going on and the uh the star link star link
[01:14:25] yeah it started talking to her and asking if she was okay and she's not the best in English so
[01:14:31] she's not a matter of fun yeah but yeah she was able to talk with uh you know get help and stuff
[01:14:36] like that she was very very surprised at that like you know that work when it needed to yeah that's
[01:14:42] awesome she she told me like as she's in the hospital and stuff like that she's like you know
[01:14:49] I can't not get another Subaru yeah she thought it was gonna be totaled but um it got repaired
[01:14:55] and stuff that's good it was another reason to get a Subaru they hold the resell value yeah they do
[01:15:03] this the Subaru had 19 thousand dollars worth of damage and it still didn't get totaled wow yeah
[01:15:11] well here's uh we're nearing the end of this but this is the get to know the person behind
[01:15:16] the account segment so who is Evie I don't know who is she so what is the kawaii like the kawaii part
[01:15:27] that grew up with a lot of cousins that loved video games as much as I did and introducing myself
[01:15:35] and into that and knowing other parts of the culture of like Japan and Korean and and other stuff
[01:15:49] that wherever this kawaii stuff is from um as you can see in the background yeah I think that's one
[01:15:56] other reason we're really intrigued with the Subaru because it's a Japanese brand we just we love
[01:16:03] yeah Japan yeah um yeah I grew up with a lot of like cousins that you know did a lot of
[01:16:12] video gaming still try to do video gaming um the plushies have always been I guess like a
[01:16:21] something that I didn't really get to have as a kid so I got to adult money yeah adult money
[01:16:29] is uh it's caused me a lot of problems with space yeah but I mean it's like you now you get to kind
[01:16:38] of enjoy and and build your own like uh I guess fulfill kid fantasies that you weren't able to do
[01:16:48] that I didn't get to yeah well it's like for me like I went out to Tahoe recently with my son
[01:16:54] and a childhood dream of mine was to go sledding down a snow hill but I grew up in Houston
[01:16:59] where do we get to do that so yeah so for like you a childhood you know dream of like being able
[01:17:05] to have your own stuff and now it's like well I have my own money so I can get the things that I
[01:17:08] wanted as a kid feel that void that I did exactly yeah yeah definitely yeah yeah what about you
[01:17:15] Jonathan who is Jonathan um 27 right
[01:17:26] I'm keeping that in yes it's the same off topic this is the same thing that he asked me at restaurants
[01:17:34] and breakfast and when they ask him how he likes his eggs he has to look at me because I know how
[01:17:39] he likes his eggs over medium same thing with the age maybe I should ask you who is Jonathan
[01:17:48] she probably answered that better than me no but yeah um a child that likes to bring home a lot of
[01:17:56] Subaru parts that we don't have space for I have parts in the garage for cars I don't even know
[01:18:03] yes yes he has brought home a lot of rims and a lot of bumpers there's two bumpers
[01:18:11] yeah so I do have a JDM bumper in storage right now and I do want to put that one on this car
[01:18:18] eventually I do want to paint the car and you know everything I do want to get the um
[01:18:25] like the full skid plate and front end bars and stuff from rally innovations
[01:18:32] that's the one so they have like the uh the light bar with the plate that goes over to
[01:18:37] like to the front and the grill and stuff like that I want to get that f-run in yeah
[01:18:43] but yeah who is Jonathan collector of um suberus collector of um hot wheels
[01:18:50] collector of other Subaru parts you called your car walley as well because it's basically built from
[01:18:57] other Subaru yeah that's one of the other names it goes by walley it's been built by other things um
[01:19:04] it's just I probably have like parts from like 20 other Subaru's hey whatever works you know and
[01:19:11] I kind of likes eggs over medium so uh where were each of you born I was born in san Antonio
[01:19:20] oh cool but I only lived there a couple years moved up to liberal Kansas shout out to the two
[01:19:28] Subaru's that are probably out there um and then moved down to colise station okay made my way here
[01:19:35] to katie all right west houston west side I've lived here all my life me too I was born in south
[01:19:42] houston okay so if you how long have you been in katie though in katie uh since I was two okay so oh
[01:19:52] 20 wow well five years ago yeah well high school did you go to morn okay high school sweethearts
[01:19:59] ah yes I went to maid creek my last year okay yeah so what do you do for work I'm a dog groomer
[01:20:07] that's cool very fitting yeah yes that's one of the you know the things about Subaru we love
[01:20:15] that it's um the dog dog friendly dog test the dog approved yeah it's a lifestyle car like I said
[01:20:23] it they but it um it aligns with our morals you know they're pro you know eco riots and
[01:20:30] dog friendly and you know they support you know our local shelter yeah we our local shelter is actually
[01:20:39] they're partnered with Subaru oh good yeah that's good we've gone there we've we've gone and
[01:20:48] donated and volunteered we went to that shelter right after harvey because there were so many
[01:20:54] dogs displaced so what do you do for a living jonathan currently I am a maintenance guy for luxury
[01:21:03] apartments and uh that's where you get a lot of stuff from sometimes huh man I love my job
[01:21:12] there's so much good stuff that people just throw out or they you know there's some people that
[01:21:17] just move out and just want to start fresh so they literally just leave their like couches
[01:21:22] tv's x boxes and you know you know furniture playstations um collectible stuff like yeah yeah
[01:21:32] it's crazy what people would just leave behind and these are luxury apartments so people have money
[01:21:38] yeah so they've got good stuff yeah do you have a dream job and if you do what would it be
[01:21:47] I guess currently what I'm doing now but more professional more uh for like shows I would love to
[01:21:54] do like show show quality um grooms I guess like specific breeds um definitely like poodles
[01:22:03] carly codes stuff like that um I'm really not to toot my own horn but I'm really good at that
[01:22:09] no it's good um but yeah I definitely what I'm doing now but just more professional
[01:22:14] that's good yeah and you Jonathan uh there's two really like dream about uh one is a an automotive
[01:22:25] journalism uh I did a lot of photography that's one of the things that really got me into you know
[01:22:32] cars and um to uh I want to I want to make you know custom I want to build custom cars yeah
[01:22:44] like I want to I want to invest in a 3d printer and you know make custom parts for cars like
[01:22:51] design body kits and um certain things like parts for the cars yeah that's good like um
[01:23:01] you know Liberty a walk rocket bunny like those kind of that kind of um quality yeah yeah besides
[01:23:10] getting out in your Subaru's what other hobbies do you have I like fishing yeah a lot yeah which
[01:23:18] can do it more but fishing I have a lot of hobbies which is crazy like fishing crocheting knitting
[01:23:25] very art forwards like painting drawing if I had this equipment I was really really good at
[01:23:32] ceramics like pottery oh nice yeah I did that a lot in high school um but like I said if I had the
[01:23:38] equipment stuff I definitely would still be doing that that's one thing we had a lot in common
[01:23:44] where yeah we love art I went to school uh art school I went for graphic design and you know I love
[01:23:54] classical art contemporary and stuff like that so I love one of my hobbies is you know painting and
[01:24:01] um just making weird stuff yeah I love contemporary art yeah what is something
[01:24:10] that makes you want to get out of bed every day the motivation for my dogs yeah yeah yeah and you
[01:24:18] Jonathan I should have said you sorry but it's heavy whatever I mean I figured that's kind of obvious
[01:24:29] no my dogs can you get that bread yeah what is something that makes you want oh no go ahead
[01:24:36] just life yeah life's good everyone you're struggling life's good yeah yeah what is something
[01:24:44] that makes you want to stay in bed the comfort oh yeah I've got I've got I've gotten that before
[01:24:52] that's a good answer the comfort the phone definitely just suck you in while you're just
[01:24:58] yeah watching watching a show or whatever yeah yeah you Jonathan her yeah that's the only
[01:25:06] right answer yeah no thinking about responsibilities yeah I don't want to get up yeah
[01:25:19] do you what is a favorite memory from your childhood the one that popped out the most was um
[01:25:28] riding a horse in Mexico oh nice yeah yeah I haven't ridden a horse in so long there's
[01:25:36] there's like nothing like that no it was different because it was like out in the mountains
[01:25:42] oh even better I don't know where my dad took us to but it was like somewhere like really
[01:25:48] mountainy and like it was like you had to go down a hill and you're just on rocks and
[01:25:55] like the dude's like okay you got to go this way and this way and I'm just like maybe eight years old
[01:26:01] oh no hiding riding a horse by myself and he was just like leading and I'm just like okay
[01:26:07] I mean it was exciting because let me I guess I like I mean I love animals but like it was
[01:26:13] exciting but scary yeah at the same time yeah yeah I guess that's my favorite they're big yes oh my gosh
[01:26:20] yes you Jonathan favorite memory from childhood there's quite a few yeah just one that pops out
[01:26:28] the most the one that pops out the most yeah I think some of the memories that pop out the most to me is
[01:26:35] just like a Christmas time with the family they we always up in up in cans most of my family
[01:26:43] lives up in Kansas there's a there's a meat packing plant up there and that's basically where
[01:26:49] everyone works that's like the um like the one factory where just the whole town works
[01:26:58] but um yeah that's where you know my uncles and stuff found found job like jobs they moved up from
[01:27:07] Mexico up there and well yeah like most of my family they all live up there and Christmas time comes around
[01:27:16] everyone you know they all meet up the same house you know a lot of Hispanic culture
[01:27:24] they they stay up until 12 to open up gifts okay and uh but yeah it's just kind of like a big event
[01:27:32] everyone gets together there's one you know I remember there's one night all our cousins were just
[01:27:39] in the other rooms playing video games on that original Xbox oh yeah I remember I think it was
[01:27:47] like the year that the original Xbox had just came out we're all just taking turns stuff like that
[01:27:55] but it's it's just like having family together um kind of just we don't get that much here
[01:28:02] because it's just kind of uh just kind of us here in Houston one of the reason that drew us
[01:28:09] out here is just uh like the uh the medical field out here is really good and um my little brother had
[01:28:18] like medical problems and my mom okay so we figured we move out here what are they down side that
[01:28:24] we're not really with our family family's important yeah all right so last question is what would be
[01:28:30] your best bit of advice to give to someone about anything don't be discouraged about like builds
[01:28:39] on Instagram and stuff my car I've had my car for nine years I I never you know pictured that it
[01:28:48] you know looked that way and you know I get people on Instagram message me like uh they just got
[01:28:54] their car and they're like oh man your car is like goals and I'm like how man and and I do look back at
[01:29:02] the cars that did inspire me and I'm like man you know I could see why you know my car looks just
[01:29:09] like there's no yeah but you know my car it's it was really built on a budget um you know I've been
[01:29:19] you know there's there's ways to build your car um you know 27 you know living paycheck to paycheck
[01:29:28] basically and my because I have a two inch lift on foresters on foresters shruts one of my buddies he
[01:29:36] he has a forester and he he bagged it oh yeah with the opposite way yeah I'm like hey man
[01:29:44] give me your struts and I'll give you my stocks oh nice yeah good swap yeah so I got you know those
[01:29:50] struts for free and he he eventually sold the forester but he put the the impresa struts on there
[01:29:57] and a lot of people a lot of uh it's a it's a cheap way for foresters to drop theirs a lot of
[01:30:03] forester people like to drop their foresters so say if you know someone with a forester and you
[01:30:08] want to lift your impresa you're like hey man let's swap yeah that's a easy way to lift and it's a win-win
[01:30:16] check marketplace facebook marketplace I'm always just scrolling and scrolling there's always good deals
[01:30:23] there's uh you know join your your local super group people are always willing to just give away
[01:30:29] stuff yeah yeah it's good to not get discouraged whenever you're trying to do your build especially
[01:30:37] because you can do it on a budget obviously if that's the way you have to do it you know so don't
[01:30:40] think that you like can't do it yeah because I mean I have you know some of the lights on my car
[01:30:45] like night lights from like Amazon and stuff like that you know I'd love to have you know other
[01:30:51] stuff but for me you know I don't I'm not like you know hitting the trolls every single weekend
[01:30:56] so it doesn't yeah it does the job for me yeah exactly you know I'll use them when I down
[01:31:03] at the beach and you know it's dark and stuff like that but you know it the way I see it is just you
[01:31:09] know it does the job yeah like you know if people get into argument like about tools you know people
[01:31:16] like oh you need to snap on you know you know Harbor Freight isn't it's trash but I'll go to
[01:31:21] Harbor Freight over getting a snap on tool um it's cheaper and it does the job yeah and if I
[01:31:31] if I need to replace it three four times it's still cheaper than the first time
[01:31:35] yep yeah definitely Evie for you any bit of advice for about anything about anything I mean I guess
[01:31:43] this could relate to like anything um just care about what you do yeah it can be with your car
[01:31:51] with life work anything like that just just care about what you do take care of yourself
[01:31:58] stay hydrated yeah yeah definitely stay hydrated yeah yeah you know I would listen to your podcast
[01:32:05] every week you know I support you and stuff like that so how I found about found out about your
[01:32:10] podcast um it was at one of the space city subis beach meat they try to do it annually
[01:32:15] yeah I know and I've always missed that one yeah and uh this is at the time I was making
[01:32:22] like overlays and stuff for for the cross trek on my Etsy and um you know that little winglet on the
[01:32:31] the back windows to the spoiler yeah yeah I made a little overlay like in carbon fiber and
[01:32:37] there's a lady out there named uh her instagram is a cent trick because I have went up to her
[01:32:44] I'm like hey can I take some photos of your car I could I'll give you these uh
[01:32:47] uh these overlays are free you know if I could just grab some photos with it on she's like oh
[01:32:53] have you heard of the subi new podcast she she told me about it oh nice and I'm like oh uh
[01:33:00] you know and I did see it it popped them up like Spotify like one of your early episodes
[01:33:05] uh huh yeah and um this had to be like before like 15 okay yeah so it's really early on
[01:33:14] I was like oh you know he's from Katie and stuff I'm like no way I didn't know that and
[01:33:21] he uh she was telling me about a centric uh how she has her business and stuff oh yeah yeah
[01:33:28] that and uh you know I was like oh man I have to take a listen like that's how I found your
[01:33:32] podcast and at the time I was working for Amazon yeah I remember yeah yeah I was a
[01:33:39] Amazon delivery driver and I just benched like all your episodes oh nice cool yeah and that's one
[01:33:47] way uh so uh connected on uh with other people um what's his name like just listening to the
[01:33:53] episodes and then like connecting with them there's uh that wandering fuzzy yeah yeah so yeah
[01:34:00] that wandering fuzzy he was also an amazon delivery driver yeah and um every time an episode
[01:34:06] came out we would check in with each other like man how's your day oh that's cool yeah that's awesome
[01:34:13] yeah yeah he's a good guy I like him all right he's like one of the other people that I would like
[01:34:18] to meet at some point but he's way up in the northeast so that's cool that's cool yeah I'm
[01:34:23] always curious like how people find the podcast because sometimes people I've said that they
[01:34:28] do like a google search because they're like oh is there a super good podcast and they'll
[01:34:32] do a google search and they'll come up with it and then other people just happen to see it like
[01:34:36] pop up in somebody's stories or somebody like it'll be a suggestion on Spotify which to me like that's
[01:34:42] really cool if it's a suggestion on Spotify and they're like oh I didn't know there was a subgroup
[01:34:46] podcast and and then they'll check it out so yeah that's cool well thanks for sharing yeah all right
[01:34:53] well thank you both for hopping on the mic and recording an episode sorry for coming in late
[01:34:58] no it's okay it's a pleasure yeah it's uh it's cool for me it's like fun for me to record in person
[01:35:06] and you know and people I get to hang out with yeah so that makes it more fun yeah it's it's funny
[01:35:12] man because we we we hang out like pretty often and stuff and but like when we hang out I just
[01:35:18] forget that you're that podcast guy you know we're just we're buddies and yeah I know it's
[01:35:24] it's funny because like there's people that I like on Instagram to be like oh you're a big deal
[01:35:29] you know and I'm like I don't feel like a big deal because I'm just like yeah I'm the guy that started
[01:35:34] the podcast but I'm also just another guy you know that has a Subaru that gets to hang out with
[01:35:39] other people and I wish I could hang out with more people and go more places but
[01:35:44] say I feel like you're like you're famous around like other like in people and other
[01:35:48] people's eyes when I'm just like when people are like oh you know him just like yeah
[01:35:53] yeah I'm just like yeah I don't like I'm not saying that you're not special or anything but it's just
[01:35:56] like no I get it I'm just like yeah that's just him yeah yeah I know because like I sometimes wonder
[01:36:03] if people are like oh man you are so lucky that y'all get to hang out with him yeah yeah but
[01:36:08] yeah I mean I just I wish I could hang out with more people it's just everybody lives so far apart
[01:36:14] so that's the hard part about doing this is I've connected with so many people that
[01:36:21] it's hard to keep up with everybody but I think that's for anybody too because we're all connected
[01:36:25] with so many different people it's like you can't you have to like spend all day long trying to
[01:36:31] keep up with everyone so ironic that you're also from Houston yeah yeah yeah where we have nothing
[01:36:38] out here yeah so yeah well thanks again y'all thank you so much you're welcome it was great
